First Experiences

Charanga Cymru includes interactive teaching resources for popular beginner instruments perfect for First experiences and the early stages of large-group music tuition.

‘First Notes to First Band’ focuses on enabling children to experience the joy of music-making through playing and singing while working towards their first live classroom band or larger ensemble performances.

Expressive Arts Curriculum

Launching with pilot Units of Work for each of the progression steps in the Expressive Arts Area in the Curriculum for Wales, this area of the platform will develop over time as we work with Welsh curriculum specialists.

The teaching resources provided range from lovely animated songs, listening, and improvising activities for younger age groups to a full-blown Grime project for older students, using YuStudio, Charanga’s beginner-friendly online music studio.

Community Resources

This area of the platform will showcase some of the brilliant teaching resources created by music services, teachers, and musicians from across Wales. We are working with a range of contributors and are very excited by what we’ve seen so far.

Yumu

Yumu is a safe online workspace for students that sits within the Charanga Cymru digital platform. You can share lessons and creative apps with students and support their learning between lessons and outside of school.

My Workspace — for teachers

Visit My Workspace to organise the resources you want to use in your teaching. You can upload your own resources if you wish, create lessons, units, and courses, and even complete Schemes of Work, personalised to the needs of your school.
